Five Female Students Kidnapped from Federal University in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of five female students from the Federal University, Dutsinma. They have also arrested a man suspected to be an informant to the terrorists involved in the incident. As of Wednesday morning, no specific details about the incident have been provided.

According to ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, the incident did occur, an arrest has been made, and their officers are actively responding to the situation at the institution. The terrorists reportedly invaded the victims’ private residence around 2 a.m., firing indiscriminately. Residents claim that all five kidnapped students were female and in their final year.

On the main campus, few students were present, as many had just completed their first-semester examinations. Additionally, a 200-level computer science and Information Technology student, Abubakar Barda, was tragically killed during a conflict with other students over a female student, resulting in the detention of six students in connection with the incident.
